About Bach to School
Bach to School is a new initiative from the acclaimed classical concert series, Bach to Baby. We offer nursery and school-aged children the opportunity to develop an appreciation and understanding of live classical music within the school day.
Loved by families and critics alike, Bach to Baby has many years’ experience of bringing world-class musicians and compelling programmes to children and their families across London, the South East and most recently Birmingham with over 50 concerts every month. We have a track record of pioneering ideas and concepts within the industry, which has led to partnerships with renowned institutions including Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and Royal Albert Hall.
Now Bach to School is bringing these outstanding musicians to schools and nurseries either in their local neighbourhood or to the setting itself, leaving a memory of musical excellence with your pupils for years to come. In addition to performing regularly on the international stage, Bach to School’s musicians are very experienced in presenting to children and in a format that makes the finest classical music accessible and engaging.
Bach to School’s series of specially-curated programmes is designed for musical variety and aligned with the key aims of the National Curriculum for Music at EYFS, KS1 and KS2, as well as being designed to help schools with their Ofsted assessments. From The ‘Four Seasons’ to the exploration of ‘Emotions’, and from ‘Carnival of the Animals’ to a tour ‘Around the World’, the concert themes cover a wide range of subjects, bringing them to life. We also offer bespoke concert programmes which can dovetail with your school’s curriculum. Such programmes can highlight specific pieces, instruments or composers, in order to explore more deeply a musical style or period that children are studying.
For concerts in your school, you can book up to three performances in one day for a chance to cater to different year groups.
