|Built in 1875 and emulating the French gothic style of the 13th century, St James' Church now plays host to a range of exciting concerts and events - including their own Islington Proms. Despite having been recently refurbished, the church still remembers when its ground was owned by the Canons of St Paul's Cathedral! This is how many of the surrounding roads got their unusual names Bishop Street, Canon Street, St Paul Street and Rectory Street are only a few. Once you've enjoyed the concert, why not take a wander along the nearby canals and take the time to spot some of London's residential canal boats - there's plenty of cafes to sit in and watch the locks work, or just let the world go by.|
